President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Azali Assoumani, President of the Union of the Comoros, in a significant meeting today. During a working visit to the UAE, President Assoumani attended a ceremony marking the Comoros’ accession to the World Trade Organisation, coinciding with the opening of the WTO’s 13th Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi.
At the meeting held at Qasr Al Bahr, discussions between the two leaders centered on enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, investment, and development sectors to propel the growth and prosperity of both nations. The significance of Comoros’ entry into the World Trade Organisation was underscored during the meeting, highlighting its potential to expedite developmental initiatives and foster increased investment opportunities for the nation’s economy and populace.
President Sheikh Mohamed and President Assoumani also engaged in dialogues concerning various regional and international issues of shared interest. In attendance at the meeting were prominent figures including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), among others.
